Ensure the pan is VERY HOT before starting to cook.

Place the oiled steak into the hot pan and listen for the sizzle as it hits the hot surface and seals the juices.

Sear the first side for 2 minutes without touching the meat. Using tongs/spatula gently turn the steak over to cook the other side for a further 2 minutes.

Then reduce the heat and continue to cook depending on your preferred eat (see below).

Our sirlion, fillet and rump have always been firm favourites, but here at Vinny’s of Asfordby we can provide you with a great selection of additional steak cuts as shown here.

Test your steak to check if it is cooked as required by pressing with the back of your tongs or spatula. A medium cooked steak should feel fairly firm and springy.

Remove the steak from the pan and place on a warmed plate.

Leave to rest for no more then 1 minute whilst you plate up the side dishes, serve immediately and enjoy!
